Rhode Island Style Windsor turnings

Rhode Island Style Windsor turnings

This Rhode Island style leg features a bulb at the bottom of the baluster. Notice the shape of the taper section. Rhode Island baluster turnings tend to be longer than those made by their Connecticut counterparts. The style dates from circa 1780-1800. Shown here in traditional Mustard milk paint.
