Bamboo Style Windsor turnings

Our Bamboo style legs and arms (shown here far left and far right) feature two swells— this design was seen early in the development of Asian influenced Bamboo style Windsors—before the more common three swells. Our stretchers (center right turning) and the back arm for our bird cage Windsor (center left turning) feature the same two swell design. The style dates from circa 1780-1800. Shown here in traditional Barn Red milk paint with a lacquer finish.
